Sinclair Future Prototype...........

Post13 Jan 2010, 00:54

Did anyone see this one (which didn't last too long).

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/sinclair-black-wa ... 3efbe1f803

Everything about it seems just plain wrong to me, from the stock photo to the totally incorrect facts - conductive Nylon!!! Did Sir Clive even have a son called Crispin?

IMHO, someone's either made a brilliant find or has fallen for it big time (or the seller got cold feet and bought it from himself with another ID).

Very interesting, I wonder who brought it?
I did a quick google and according to these sites Clive Sinclair had two sons Bartholomew and Crispin

Could it be true?

The seller is relatively new to eBay, I checked out his feedback - not sure if the watch would work with the other items he has previously sold........ a drag queen wig and drag queen dress

I reckon that it is a real, genuine Sinclair model- if you look in old UK electronics magazines there are a number (a lot!) of photos of "forthcoming" Sinclair products and I am pretty sure this was a Jubilee year (1977) model that never made it to full production- have to go and dig out my old "Wireless World" mags.

what a find!!

sure looks real to me.

clean and sharp! very hard to produce that sort of finish on a personal level. if it were mass produced MAYBE...

if more show up, i would be very suspicious.

Shame it didn't make it into full production, it looks a neat watch and the build quality & reliability cannot be any worse than the blackwatch

Maybe I should have mentioned that I wasn't disputing the watch as being a 'real' prototype, I just remember seeing that particular photo before somewhere on a Sinclair historical site. What I find strange is there were no actual photo's of the watch from the seller, sort of set the alarm bells ringing. But you never know someone may have got very lucky, could even be someone who visits this site!!. Anyway, I agree it is a cracking watch, it's a pity it never made it.
