I've been stung on ebay for the first time this week for a Catena Spacesonic ....and before all the wise people go....ahh yes...you mean the seller..... also known as..........paypal dispute ongoing....
Let me just say i was unwise, unknowing...and now a reader of this forum.
My point is, ebay does nothing about fakes. I have even spoke to Catena in Switzerland, who are mighty pissed off about these watches, and how they have informed ebay of this, and yet, even still they they keep coming up for sale. (Catena did inform me they will be reintroducing a modern spacesonic, sometime soon.....ooooooh exciting)
I think we can safely assume now that ebay, or a certain fraction of ebay, is corrupt, and happily selling copies and fakes, whilst passing them off as the original, new old stock etc....
Maybe we should have a rogues gallery, something showing what the original looks like, especially the movements which can't be faked so easily, and some images of copies, and knocked of Cr@p being sold on ebay.
In future i shall ask to see the movement (not sure digital watches have movements) as that is usually a good starting point for the authenticity of any watch.....
bugger.....[/b]
