Strange Elektronika LED

Is the quartz crystal missing from this watch?

(See last picture on listing)

There are a few Elektronika's for sale on ebay at this time some have the QC in place but others just have a space where the QC is usually fitted - all described and pictured as working :-?

Do you think the seller is using photographs of a working watch to sell the non-working ones?

No, just later revision with other IC board which has a small quartz hidden under the plastic body. As communists are for easy and working solution they vouched to not have the plastic body redesigned as it also fitted with the quartz hole in it.

But yeah admitted - with the hole it really looks like the quartz got looted (OMG, yay another quartz crystal for our collection....).

Thanks for the info Fronz, it must be quite a small quartz, there does not look to be that much spare space left, with the battery ports, trimmer and the hole where the crystal used to be.

How does the size of quartz effect watch function - Is bigger better?

The size doesn't matter. I had one of these watches, with the small 'hidden' quartz and it worked fine. Most of todays watches use them.
