Pulsar 18k European calculator, I would of thought the gold value alone would be greater than the $3,950.00 asking price?

Nice watch but unfortunately it does not have the original Pulsar band and 18k buckle. It also looks like there is a sticky button to get into calculator mode. All these downsides in my consideration would give a value of much less than the buy now. I dont think the gold value is anywhere near the $3950, as its only the weight of the case. I guess true value of $2500 would be correct ;-)

I just ran the math for the scrap/melt value, using $1265USD per troy ounce. $1891USD. And we didn't discount for the glass, back battery clip and rubber button gasket....just lost another $75.

So $3,950.00 is not much of a bargain after all, it's still a nice rarity though, it will be interesting to see if it sells and at what price.

BTW: It's not my auction, I wasn't trying to do a Pigeon or a Auldlad with the thread

Nope, not me; already got this one. Actually, the buyer is in Germany [and no, not Mike]. He actually called me about it, I suggested the offer he should make, and the rest, as they say, is history. I think he got a good deal, too.
