Oh well, georgepapay again...

Not only watches, also calculators. The prices he gets are crazy, sometimes 10 times more than in "regular" auctions for models in same or even better condition. Recently he sold a Casio fx-730P without accessories for around 240US$ (IIRC) while at the same time NOBODY took a Buy-It-Now offer of 80GBP for the same calculator with box and all accessories, all in immaculate condition, nice photos, international shipping - and this happens all the time. Look at his feedback. Either he fakes his sales or he knows some real magic.

Some of George's prices are hard to understand or believe, but many are not so far fetched. He usually is selling EXTREMELY nice, or new stuff - it is hard to quantify the difference between a piece that is almost new, and one that really IS new. Like the Seiko calc. he sold for $365. Sure a dirty working one might only fetch $75, a very nice working one $150. To someone with the disposable income, spending $365 against those numbers is a no brainer - just do it, it will be the cat's meow. :-D

The Casio flip-top calculator watch (last link in list given). I totally understand it's sell price - the model with the cut corners like that AND the Japanese characters is super rare. Again, the condition was apparently superb. HIs more middle of the road early Seiko LCDs are a little harder to understand, as those aren't quite that rare [yet].

I took at look at the countries that some of his high-spending bidders are from. They are countries like: South Africa, France, Bulgaria, Brazil, Slovenia, Italy.

I've rarely ever shipped to any of those countries, except France.

Maybe he's just in a geographically favored or centralized area for those 'affluent' people.

Good to see you Jeff. Yeah, the geography thing. Honestly, I've shipped to all those countries, and had no problem as long as it was tracked shipping. Brazil and South Africa actually quite a bit.
