Hi Expert opinions needed

Post03 Jan 2008, 00:39

Hi

New to the forum but have always loved LED/LCD and all watches

Just wondered if anyone remembers these as I am still looking for an original LED in good condition

http://tinyurl.com/2v45a9

Could this really Be new old stock or is it likely to be a copy - I don't want to be caught out again

Thanks

:-D

The module is definitely original 70s - other members here might be able to tell you the exact module type and manufacturer from the photos ;-)
Besides that, the seller is well known and trustworthy (if he's the same as http://www.70s-watches.com/ - Graham Wilson)

fiesata,

These are NOS Microsonic cases with a non original module fitted inside, I sell the exact same type of watch on Ebay as his round faced ones except I put Commodore modules inside mine. The original two button modules are Hughes 29mm these are next to impossible to get hold of in big enough quantities to build lots of watches that's why we adapt other manufacturers modules to fit. The watch in question does not have a Hughes module fitted.

He sells the module here - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NOS-rare-Old-vintage-1970s-LED-MODULE-for-digital-watch_W0QQitemZ250201471755QQihZ015QQcategoryZ31387QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I know from building my own watches it takes about half an hour a watch to properly machine the adaptor assembly for the module which ends up a direct replacement for a Hughes 29mm. Ask for a picture of the insides to see how good the job is before parting with any money and make sure the two buttons work all the watch functions... :-)

I found a lot of these Microsonic watches in the past and half of them was working.
I thought the seller of these watches found an old stock of these but if he build these watches without clearly saying it , that's unfair
