Just 1 link for seiko a547

Post31 Jan 2013, 06:30

Hello everybody..
Very nice to meet you all.. This is my first post on this forum.... Happened to stumble across my dads old seiko a547 and got the old bug back or digital watches...

Absolutly fell in love with this watch when my dad got it years and years ago.. Decided to put a battery in it, and hey presto... works like a dream.... only thing that doesnt work is the light.... The light works if you take the module out and press it, but wont work in the case via pressing the button....

Anyway, the reason for my post is explained in my subject box lol.... tried it on and its just that little bit too tight...

I'm a pianist by trade, and it nearly cut the blood off my left hand when i played it at a gig lol..... any idea's where to start looking for a link for the bracelet....

Many many thanks in advance.
martin...

Welcome to the forum , mjfmusician.
Just some info, the model number can be seen on the back.
For instance A547-5030 or 5040, with those four numbers seikokid will know what watch it is.

About the light not working, it is probably dirt under the button , in that case the button can't reach the contact on the module.
You can try and clean it underneath, but it's tricky because the button and the circlip on the inside are very small.

I've at least now more of a clue.....thanks for the picture... I need to make a new post somewhere on here because I'm after buying my 1st vintage watch.... Really fancy a PDA watch of somesort... I've got an old Casio tc 600 knocking about somewhere somewhere, and always loved the touchscreen aspect of it.... Really torn in what to buy....
Like the vdb 3000 but not sure how fiddly it is ..... Also like the hbx Casio but it lacks the calculator feature...

You're welcome.
You could think about a real vintage "PDA" seiko watch (UC-2000 or RC-1000), it's not a touchscreen but it is considered to be the first of personal assistance watches :-)
