Wanted a working NS WM29 830 module

Post09 Dec 2013, 13:42

Wanted a working NS WM29 830 module. buttons at 2 and 4 o clock. Was working before taken to a local jeweller to fit new batteries. Now the whole of the first digit has disappeared. Any ideas how to mend or can anyone supply a working module for cash.

Are they the right size batteries in there? They appear to be sticking out well from the back of the module, seems to me wrong size batteries have put pressure on the module and that's what has killed the first digit.

Why does someone with your knowledge on digi watches need to go to a jeweller for battery changes? I'd have thought you'd be doing your own, even if you had to buy opening tools etc they'd pay for themselves within a couple of changes with what these jewellers charge.

Richard

I didn't do it, the watch was sent to me for repair. The owner got the batteries changed elsewhere on both of his watches and both stopped working correctly. The lcd I have fixed but the LED needs a new module. Im just trying to locate a working module.

Ah that explains it :grin1: I know it's not ideal but take the front cover off the module and try putting a little light pressure on the black blob covering the main chip (while the display is lit), it sometimes makes the digit light up, I've done this as a temporary fix on my own watches in the past while waiting for a replacement to pop up on eBay.

Yep, it's more than once that i heard that a "jeweller" f**ked up a watch with a battery that was too thick
