WTB two pulsar men's dress modules 102 104 and a magnet

Post24 Mar 2014, 07:41

I have two Pulsar 5408s men's dress watches that need working modules. One is magnet set 102 and the other a 104

The magnet set one worked for a while then died. Tried a wash it didn't come back. Maybe this will be my first foray into quartz crystal replacement.

The autoset 5408 never worked - tried a wash still nothing. Did the autoset have a different case back then the magnet set one? I think someone swapped modules and then sold it to me on eBay. :( because the case reads module 102 while the green module inside reads 104 unless this is normal....

So I either need two 102 modules or one 102 and one 104 and a gold auto/set case back

And one or two magnets

Were men's dress magnets stored on the watch?

Any help is greatly appreciated

Thank you

First, just to get the numbers clear...the 7408 is the 14K SOLID gold Dress watch. If you have two of those, you're doing well. Otherwise, the 5408 is the goldfilled version. I have a couple magnets, and a minty goldfilled Auto-Set case back (no magnet recesses) I can sell.
There was no provision on either model for storing a magnet in the clasp. Instead, the 102-equipped models (both solid and goldfilled) came with a P-shaped magnet that was able to be carried on your keyring (one edge was even serrated to more closely resemble a key...this is NOT to be confused with the "P" magnet for the P1).

I edited the original post to reflect the correct numbers. I had no idea about the men's dress magnets - what a cool design. I'll pm or call you about the other parts. Thanks Bruce

Bucko170 - I'm confused. Will the 3502 module fit in the men's dress 5408 case?

Oh i see now http://www.newdwf.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=3977

3502 or 5503 is the men's dress touch command module which i'm assuming is the same size as the men's dress 5408 . So the question is will the buttons from the 5408 case activate the 3502/5503 touch command module?

If you get in touch with Greg he will be able to clarify (or not) that they are the correct modules for your requirements, I always get muddled as to what fits what so it would be advisable to do so. :-D

800 Touch-Command modules for the 5503 will fit in the 5408 case, but the button magnets will not activate the functions. You need a 103 or 104 module for the Dress (the 101 and 102 modules are the same size, and again, will fit in the Dress case, but the digits are much smaller, and won't look right).
Touch-Command modules operate correctly only in cases with Touch-Command buttons.
