Wanted: Seiko C359 battery hatch

Post05 Dec 2015, 11:06

I'm looking for a battery cover for Seiko C359 calculator watch, example pic below.

I have a few other (used) Seiko battery hatches if you are looking for something in particular?

Pretty sure I have one somewhere?
Do you have any seals for the hatch?
I need a couple. :Prost:

Unfortunately not - and that's how I lost the battery cover on my C359 !

The battery gasket had become rock solid and wouldn't turn at all so I had to take the watch apart at the ends and get the battery cover off with my fingers from inside and out, which was a bit of a struggle.

Removed the munted gasket and replaced the battery cover meaning to make or buy a new one but rushed out the door a few hours later, grabbed the watch to wear, and when I took it off when I got back, yup, battery cover gone.

Such an idiot - that's pretty much watch etiquette 101 - so I've got the battery held in with aluminium foil tape which does the job and doesn't look half as bad as it sounds, but is not a permanent fix at all. I'll be making sure the new cover doesn't come off if I ever get another!!

Oh dear, the same happened to me but luckily I spotted it. ~:(
I haven't worn it since and won't until I get some O rings/seals for it.
Perhaps someone on here might be able to point us in the right direction. :call:
Mick showed me some on ebay but they were all to big.
I'll have another scout.

Worst case you could probably make your own with some (very) thin rubber and a couple of circular punches the right diameter. Won't be as good as the original but should come close (and should stop it falling off).

Thanks for looking, I appreciate it.

I did; there were a couple of blokes on here who had them, so hopefully you'll also be lucky.
