New Crystal for Seiko M929-4000

Post02 Jun 2016, 14:52

Howdy,

It's time I replaced the crystal in my M929-4000 (dated 1979) as it has picked-up some scratches over the years - nothing too bad but getting more noticeable now.

I could do with some help identifying the correct crystal code for the model. I won't attempt to replace it myself (don't have the tools / crystal press etc.) so will be taking it to a pro to do at some point (assume an approved Seiko dealer?).

From online research I've done already, crystal codes BA1W20GM02 or BA1W20GM03 seem to be likely candidates but need to clarify.

Thanks for any help folks! - KH

Just realised - this might be better posted in the "Watches and Parts Needed" section..? ( I'm new! :grin1: )

Hi,

Have you looked into getting it polished? If you are into doing it yourself you can use Cerium Oxide mixed with water and buff it with some felt on a Dremel tool.

Kind regards,
Tibi
