Seiko VFA 3923-5020

Post29 Jan 2017, 21:02

Hello,

I need the following crystal: ES0X01HNT0. This is the angled corner flat crystal with beveled edges and is epoxied to the steel frame. Conversely, can a similar crystal be fitted. It does not need the beveled edges.

Thirdly, time to polish and polish and polish...

Any help or suggestions.

I know there are custom crystal cutting sites out there, anyone recommend one?

Geoff

Still looking but I have HP just acquired a flat lap machine with the correct pads in good used condition:

Very similar to this YouTube video machine. Should renew many of my glass crystals to perfection. Can't wait!

A Dutch site helped me with a crystal. They might need an original (scratched) crystal though because of the special shape yours has.
I only had some broken remains for this one, they needed the case and made one from scratch.

Have to ask...is the material glass or sapphire (it's a Zodiac; I'm guessing it's sapphire)? And, what did this little miracle cost?

Hi Bruce :)
Just glass, apparently they laser scanned the case and cut a bespoke glass for me.
I don't know the price exactly anymore but it wasn't more than 30 euros.

(they do make sapphire crystals)

Okay, update, sent it to Jules Borel crystal fit and cutting department.

The crystal has been cut and fitted into the frame. Just waiting for its delivery. Will post the results.

Thanks for help and input!

Geoff
