WANTED: Mercury or Compuchron Display Box & Kuatron Modu

Post08 Oct 2008, 14:38

Would anyone be able to help me out with these two items?

1. I have just purchased a LED calculator watch which was sold as a Mercury, it appears to be identical to the Compuchron I would like a display box for it does anyone have either a Mercury or a Compuchron display box for sale?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... %26fvi%3D1

2. Would anyone be able to supply me with a replacement Kuatron module?

The module measures 25mm, it has 'Kuatron Inc N0101 Jewels Unadjusted' printed on the case, one command button at the 1 o'clock position and one set button at the 3 o'clock position.

The Kuatron module, can you post picture of the front.

Is there any sign of corrosion as the little hole in the + contact will let acid into the wire bond's and I.C.

Hmmm, I've seen green tinted modules before somewhere with red digits, I’am sure those type of displays are sealed like the Frontier and Fairchild modules so it may be OK, have you tried changing the quartz it might be a simple fix also put two batteries in it and use a multi meter set to milliamps touch the test leads on the batteries to make the circuit if there is a reading on the meter there’s a good chance the watch is working.

I can’t think of anything else to try off hand or if you like pop it in a jiffy bag and I’ll have a squint at it for you...

I tried it with the multimeter and as expected it is dead, with no signs of life at all.

I need a replacement module.............anyone have one?
