LED maintenance time, watches now for sale

Post27 Feb 2009, 00:39

After a long couple of weeks 140+ batteries, two dead watches (b*stard) and a lot of swearing its all finished, but now since going through the watches I've decided they need a new home, I need to spend less time playing with LED watches and more time playing with motorbikes and cars...

There are Quasar, Timex, Gruen, National Semiconductor, Exelar, Novus, Texas Instruments, Trafalgar, Commodore, Le Generale, Sharp, Sears Roebuck, Helbros, Baylor, Timeband, Bowmar and lots of un-named brands. Please note that all the watches are serviced and in full working condition unlike what is offered for sale on a well known auction site.

So please have a close look and if you see anything that takes your fancy give me a shout... :-)

Keep clicking on the image for supersize pictures.

Seventy one LED watches.

My wife should see your post - 140 batteries!?
And she complains about my modest collection's need for batteries.
I see a few familiar faces in these pics, and some interesting ones too.

Hi, just joined to post this.

I've been look a nice day to day LED watch for a couple months and unfortunately the money spent trying to get one on a popular auction site has resulted in my ownership of 2 broken beyond repair watches.

1 Commodore and 1 Bulova.

Unlike their previous owners I have not attempted to re-sell them as I dont believe it would be correct knowing that they are indeed broken beyond repair. The money spent on these combined could have been better spent getting a NOS one too :(

anyway enough of the sob story...

Just sent you a PM but also interested in the ones that are circled:

Please message me with prices,

I'm looking for this Texas Instrument watch. I'm not sure what model it is, but I had one when I was younger. Do you think you might have one?[/img]

Hi Specter100 - your picture is of a Texas Instruments model 401, without the original stainless steel band. That band is ok, but if you're going for a leather band, I think the leather or f aux alligator would be a great choice.

I'am quite surprised there's not been more interest in these watches most of the run of the mill ones have modules that'll fit the more expensive LED's they've got to be worth at least the price of a fully working module, 536 hits on this thread which is more than I've ever seen on an Ebay auction so come on guys make me an offer for them I'am more than willing to do a deal at least you know these ones work.... :-)

i did a little test, i viewed this thread a few times and every time it clocked the counter. not really a true reading for how many people have viewed, more like a question, how many people have viewed it how many times?? (just an observation) ...

You're quite correct, this is how 99 percent of counters on the web work. The only main ones that keep track of "distinct viewers" are sites where you log in with a user name and password, to see data that is privy ONLY to logged in users. Since this site allows unrestricted access to all but the "Humor" section, the counters reflect page views, not pages views by distinct users. Counters that track by connection identity(I.P.) suffer from .the "library/cafe" effect - several people may have gone to the same webpage from that computer, or the same person repeatedly :-? No way to know :x

:?: when you visit an updated, appended to or edited thread, are you really at the same thread? :-) Numbers lie. !@@!

all but the "Humor" section

hi ed,

never noticed that before, why is the "humor" section members only?

do you feel it wrong to unleash our geeky humor upon society??

That is hard...

I like square better then round angles. Would be great to have a signed folding clasp (really like the quality that stands for). A square case maybe or a little like my Bertone Stratos (see my picture besides this post)...picture of the pieces that would somehow fit the description would be great!

thanks for your trouble!
