fresh blood within the l.e.d sellers market?

Post13 Feb 2010, 19:11

Is it me or is there some fresh collecting blood out there in the led watch sellers market.
ive noticed a distinct uplift ( as the actress said the bishop.lol)in watch sales recently.

ed have you noticed any up! trends in membership of the DWF forum
in the last 2 months.
or is just that the Christmas nutty period has past?
anyway it seems a fair time to sell.

: fresh blood within the sellers led market?

Post13 Feb 2010, 19:34

Seems there was a nice uptick following Christmas in forum membership which is just now winding down. And a fair number of ladies bought husbands LEDs for presents at Christmas and then again for Valentine's Day. :-D At least that was my experience.

Bidding on ebay seems to be firming up - the days of $400 Pulsar calcs. ad $700 HP-1s seems to be very much over.

And an absolutely brutal number of repair requests and inquiries lately.

Ed, how has this development continued?

Vintage lcd Seikos seems silly territory but that may be deceptive for the general trent.

I've noticed a definite uptick in sales and inquiries in last two weeks or so.

Northern Hemisphere, end-of-summer-blues. Cure: buy a watch. :-)

Well over 40 degrees C. here and that will not change much for the next four weeks.
Nice sub 20 night, a bit of a breeze.
Apart from the odd thunderstorm there is no rain to be expected till about half sept.

Th summer feria is in 2 weeks and the end of summer fiesta in 6.

No e.o.s blues for some 5 or 6 weeks yet

.Ok, maybe not end-of-summer, more like, getting-tired-of-summer. Your seasons are not that much different - in 4 weeks you could have odd cool weather. Or you could have 10-12 weeks of very nice weather. We had nice cool nights the last two...great for sleeping. I think this is the first time I have slept for 8+ hours straight in months. Summer started June 21st - sorry you missed it.

I just always feel there are some waves to the buying and interest patterns, which are slightly controlled by the seasons. Or maybe it is just MY interest goes up and down with the seasons? I spend a few weeks outside roasting in the sun, I am ready to hide inside and work on watches or websites or something. A few days of that, I can't wait to get back outside. ~:(

:-? :?:

You were talking énd of summer Ed = start of autumn.
In North America, autumn is usually considered to start with the September equinox so that is still some time off...

Anyway; you noticed an increase in interest. That was what I asked about, so thanks.

But for many in North America, the end-of-summer is "symbolically" Labor Day weekend(Sept. 3-5). Schools are back in session, colleges are back into session, people have had a few major holidays, plenty of time to soak in the sun. Physically the seasons may cooperate for 2 more months, but psychologically, people in the Northern Hemisphere start to think of nesting for the winter ahead. And stocking up on some toys to ponder and fuss over is a good way to prepare for those cold days that are coming. ;*

Summer is when it's warm/hot and sunny for a few weeks. Here in Germany, this hasn't happend yet this year. The April was almost like summer, but the usually hottest months July and August up to now were autumn-like, with the exception of a few single days, mostly NOT at the weekends :x
