Since anyone who has the watch knows what these look like, I"m hoping Ed will let me slide on posting a pic. 18K expansion links...only a few available, and no more when these are gone. $200 each; I'll pick up the shipping.

Lloyd, call me if there's a problem. I had seven other buyers of links...no complaints. The mere existance of these is little short of a miracle, but if they're not up to your standards, I'll make it right. No messages deleted by me...

Please be sure your email address in your profile is correct. In case you are wondering, the site admin has no ability to remove individuals emails or PMs, short of going into the database by hand and risking the whole deal. Something I would have no interest in, or time for. Sometimes I get messages that certain peoples mail is being rejected - which is out of my control too. If your email is being bounced, how do I notify you? Our PM mailboxes have a 50 item limit - some of you apparently don't clean them out often. :o Particularly those of you who don't visit often.....the mail still builds up and then starts getting tossed out. (Bruce didn't log on for 3-4 weeks....)
Newest mail gets tossed, the old stuff just sits.

I know I went a bit long - not like I was jacked or something....it's actually kind of funny to me when it happens here. I get someone about once a month who writes me and says their PMs aren't getting through. ? "Have you emptied your trash lately?" "Um. no" !@@!

Regrettably I am also involved in this sad deal as two of the total three links Llyod Harvey purchased were meant for me. Besides the numerous Emails and PMs Lloyd wrote meanwhile, I personally sent Mr. Wegman two Emails dating of 12. and 16. Oktober to complain about their bad condition, lacking any reply too. While beeing described as "virtually new, with some very minor handling and storage marks", among other faults they do in fact show multiple quite hefty grooves from filing probably done for alloy testing. Please see the picture below which I also sent to Mr Wegman.

Mr. Wegman, please refund these USD 400 to Lloyds Paypal account, we will then return your two links right away!

Such a shame if so - the standard is to use a testing stone (piece of super fine black Arkansas stone...fine enough to sharpen a razor), you take a few gentle swipes so a fine amount of gold is deposited, drip on a drop of testing solution, compare to chart. Done to the end of a link there would be no sign whatsoever - even to the face of a link the mark would be easily brushed off.. And obviously one can test against items of known kt.

This situation is fully resolved. I sold 10 links to eight buyers, this was the only problem. I have no objection to Mr. Hofstaedter's request. These will be repaired and go on 1822 bracelets, and there they will stay. It pained me to sell any of the 19 18K links I got from my source in New York (not the same source as the 70 18K watches I got a few years ago, but a jeweller friend of that source). These were accumulated over several years and set aside (they were accidentally re-discovered some months ago). They would have been scrapped had I not purchased them. I apologize for my uncharacteristic inattention to this, but other, more pressing matters have been consuming my energies (specifically, the long-term hospitalization of my brother, who passed away a few weeks ago). The only bright spot in the last few months was a wonderful visit from Hanno. It was a mentally re--invigorating opportunity to spend a few hours showing my collection and talking about Pulsars (his SASM modules are now available directly from me...no need to send your watch across the Atlantic).
