Otron solartime

Post07 Feb 2012, 20:09

Wow...i love this watch, all stainless steel...with solar cell.I bought it in november 2010 and i never changed the batteries...This came from 1979 and have chronograph, alarm, dual time, alarm and a powerful light.
Assembled probably in honk kong but i think the quality is very good....
Anyone knows how the solar cell works?I never open it...i think there are 2 battery inside but i'm not sure....

Some watches are made to last only as long as they are fashionable
Some watches, simply are not made to last
Seiko watches are designed to withstand the ravages of both time and fashion
Someday perhaps, all watches will be made this way

Otron made good quality cases I think they were Korean company as the module on one I have say korean made but cant be certain. The actual company name is Olympos Electronics.

Heres a google link that may interest you from Popular science

Heres a Solartime I have here that has the Olympos Electronics on the module case. Although I also have a Limit in exactly the same case. I'll check to see if they have the same module.
