New "little" friend...Orient from 1974-1975

Post16 Aug 2012, 17:29

Ciao a tutti amici....a new friend arrived today.A very chunky Orient mod. H64118-40 with serial number 51960 : a very early one i suppose...
The module is a 64100....i must say that this early orient lcd are very great, very well built....impressive.The watch is in mint conditions :-)
Very simple: hour, minute, seconds, date and light.....only one problem:the light works fine but the button don't make contact,is too hard to push it (any tips?).Anyway the watch works fine.I suppose that this came from January 1975 (the serial number are the same of seiko year-month-xxx???)
Here some pics as the same.....

Very nice! In both digital and mechanical watches, Orient was (and is) a highly under-rated brand.

I wrong the date....Orient write me this mail:

Dear Mr. Fiore,

Thank you very much for your inquiry on ORIENT model H641118.

We are glad to know you have made it alive again, but we are very sorry to tell you we have no data or printed manual of the said item in our hand.

We would like to inform you it was produced in Japan in 1976.

Hopefully the ORIENT LCD Watch would be cherished by you as long as it works good.

Sorry again for any inconvenience caused.

Best Regards,
