Post03 Sep 2012, 14:18

Ciao a tutti...i have found on the net this pretty and cheap Conic from 1979 in non working condition.I don't know if buy it or not because (in my opinion) the display seems to be damaged (it has a strange colour, see pic).I need any tips from the forum.....
Buy or not? This is the question...ops this is Shakespeare.....

Some watches, simply are not made to last
Seiko watches are designed to withstand the ravages of both time and fashion
Someday perhaps, all watches will be made this way

the lcd display is colored from the uv from the sun. It's like old plastics that are getting harder when they get older. You have to get the 2 polaroid layers from the display and put new one. But it's not easy to get the 2 hardened layers polaroid from the lcd.
Not worth to buy it. Conic is not special enough to do all the work.

I had a conic, gave it to a friend. (he wanted to polish the chrome off) Cheap chromed base metal case. Your Seiko's are way cooler :)
