[HELP] Seiko M159A-5000

Post30 Oct 2012, 15:44

Hello guys.

I found recently a seiko M159A-5000 in great conditions.
It's not working so I started open it to clean and see what's wrong.

At this moment, I'm having problems to remove the module from the back case, has you can see in the images.
Anyone have some video or something to explain it for me?
The "crown" seems blocking the module in the case.

Please help me.
thank you

Hello,

Actually to remove the module, all you need to do is press the tab next to the stem where I have marked on the image you uploaded, and at the same time, pull-out the stem.

Unfortunatelly the module seems dead.. or just i'm not using the proper battery.
Anyone know the battery # for this watch?

Thanks

There are many model labels for the size of this battery: AG10, L1131, LR54, 189, LR1130, 389, 390, V389, GP89A, SB-BU

Just strictly go with #390, or #389. Here is an eBay link to the correct battery size...

Easy way to tell if the battery is doing it's job, press the backlight button, if it lights the battery is working.
