Replacement Reflector Material?

Hi All,

I've been fixing a few old LCD's that have had corrosion damage to the reflector behind the LCD display. What is a good replacement material for this reflector? Anyone find anything that works well?

Your pot raised the following question.

I was thinking of a poster grade cardboard of the same thickness and some automotive sparkle or fleck spray paint.

This would allow some fancy coloring, yellow, orange ...

The reason I was thinking this is that I would like convert a running man to the higher contrast black LCD on yellow for the flight deck low light. Similar to the yellow reflective panel on the PAN AM world timers which was for the dimmer flight deck lighting.

tried it all..but it's difficult to find the perfect material...i found some in a hobbyshop at home. Gold and silver.

I like the metal idea. I'll have to visit the hobby store and see what's available. I also thought of the spray painted cardboard, but hadn't tried it yet. Might there be an issue with off-gassing from the paint reacting with the plastics in the LCD case? Probably cannibalizing old LCD's would be the most authentic. Thanks for the ideas!
