Post10 Jan 2013, 21:52

Hi....i have this nos seiko m354 but the lcd panel appear very blur and with rainbow effect....so i decided to change the film with new one....
The rainbow disappear but the lcd is still blur ..in the time section only the digitis of the day(upper left) appear very crisp but the time is very blur....also the calendar function is blur....do you have any tips for this dual layer lcd panel...could be a contact problem? Is this a common problem in this model?
I try also a second lcd panel and the problem is the same....

Some watches are made to last only as long as they are fashionable
Some watches, simply are not made to last
Seiko watches are designed to withstand the ravages of both time and fashion
Someday perhaps, all watches will be made this way

Hi Simone,

i have a few watches with the same problem.
I think that it's losing power somewhere. I don't know where.

till now, nobody knows the answer!

Losing power?mmmm....but where?
Could be a bad contact between the zebra and the board?

I had a similar problem, not all the digits light up with the same strength, some were faded ,others were stronger.
What i did was cleaning the zebra strips and contacts on the circuit board, and after that it was a bit better.
You might want to place a new and good brand battery,
I had some batteries of unknown brands that could not deliver a good enough current, so when i pushed the light button the digits would fade, do the digits stay on or do they fade when the light button is pushed on your watch, simone ?
Also, these lcd panels are known to have fade issues, you can never get it out completely is my experience.

In that case i would try to clean the contacts on the board and the zebra strips. ;-)
