Please help me ID this Casio for a friend.

Post19 Mar 2013, 14:25

Hi all,

I'm helping a friend out named Rick here, he's a mad 80's fanatic and like me collects 80's Boomboxes, Rick is completely obsessed with the 80's and his house is like a shrine to boomboxes, cassettes, 80's robots, walkmans, transformers, rare japanese anime pencil cases, sneakers, pental pens etc etc etc.

After I bought a Marty McFly replica-reissue Casio CA53W Rick has asked me for some help in tracking down a Casio he bought in 1984 in Singapore, now the watch is long gone but Rick would like another just like it, it's dual analog and digital, white face, reddish coloured band and case.

Now if anyone can id and perhaps has one of these little beauties for him we both would be very grateful.

here's a very blurry pic of the actual watch

(The digital part is on the bottom)
Any help would be appreciated, and would make an old rocker happy.

Thanks for reading this far lol

Terry.

I dont recognize it but it might show up in the 1983 or 1984 catalogue on the digital watch library

Could it be the watches on Page 24 of the Casio 1984 catalog DWL had linked to above?

Have your friend check the link below. Then we can go from there looking for one if we have a model number. :-)

EDIT: Band looked black on my old monitor, but it shows up as redish on my newer one, indicating it might be a Janus water sports AQ-31W-4 model with resin band.

Gentlemen thanks from Rick, that is indeed the exact watch Rick is looking for.

Now to trawl ebay for the next 5 years until it turns up *sigh*.
