New little friend: Sanyo Solar

Post20 Mar 2013, 19:10

Hi friends....another catch here....
I found this Sanyo in NOS condition with tag (94.000 lire actual 47 euro),all in stainless steel and made in japan.
Basic function: Hour,date,light and alarm....and....SOLAR!!!! :grin1: :grin1: :grin1:
The watch is little (not as the Seiko B and L series),ideal for small wrist (so seems made for me) :-D
I don't know if this one is for lady but i don't think...probably for man or young boy...
The year of release is unknow, probably 1979 max 1981...
Enjoy....as the same a watch dedicated to my friend Kasper

Some watches are made to last only as long as they are fashionable
Some watches, simply are not made to last
Seiko watches are designed to withstand the ravages of both time and fashion
Someday perhaps, all watches will be made this way

Very nice one Simone, I remember a friend that had one of these in grade school in 1982. Man I'm getting old lol.

Do they still make the battery for it? Or does it require a special battery?

Well your dates of manufacture were probably correct, but people tend to wear their watches a few years after they were first made. Seeing that watch reminded me of a classmate that had the same model in 1982. :D
