Hey all, glad to be here.

I'm a vintage Seiko collector primarily, though I have a scattering of Casio watches. I've slowly been building a decent LCD collection. I'll put together a show-and-tell. But in the meantime, here's my first shot for the board. I run with different vintage watches, and today's choice was this one: Seiko S229-501A Pulsemeter - same one used in the movie "Aliens". The pulsemeter still works very well. 129 was the reading at the end.

Thanks for having me on board.

Welcome!!!!
Some watches are made to last only as long as they are fashionable
Some watches, simply are not made to last
Seiko watches are designed to withstand the ravages of both time and fashion
Someday perhaps, all watches will be made this way

It took about a year of looking to find this example in this condition, and then I had to cough up some serious money to get it. I got caught between guys who collect pulsemeters and people who collect "Aliens" stuff. I just like Seiko models that had screen time.

Welcome to DWF Spencer! Nice Seiko you've got there. You've started your collection in the best way, with such a unusual model. ;-)
