Flea market...casio clone!

Post08 Dec 2013, 17:17

Wow my friends....i was at flea market some hour ago and i found a very beautifull casio clone: Bino 50qs-17
The watch seems to be in working order condition (incl. light)...well it's needing only a good clean...the three front button are very hard to push...
An incredible Casio 50qs clone....from 1979
Ohhh i also find a citizen crystron only case and band (no module and lcd),here the link if you want to see the complete watch: http://www.digital-watch.com/DWL/1work/citizen-6010
If anyone have a complete module and lcd panel contact me.... ;-)
Sorry for the bad quality of my pics but i'm not at home at the moment,so i'm using my phone...... :-?

Some watches, simply are not made to last

That Bino is surely a sweet catch. It's a rebadged version of a Casiotron, the module was made by NEC. Can't remember the exact model, maybe it's the 52QS. Congrats Simone, maybe if someday you'll wish to get rid of that watch, I'd be very interested. :-P

The seller was the typical person that hate all lcd watches and love the mechanical....

Lol! Quite an opportunity for us, digital enthusiasts then. ;-)

Probably for those who don't live in Italy, the Bino brand won't ring any bell. It's a brand owned by the Italian watch company "Lorenz", which used to have a joint venture with Edox during the '70s. We could say that the Bino brand is placed at the mid-low range of the market, and makes wall clocks and portable alarm clocks. During the '80s the Lorenz Group was also the Italian distributor for Casio watches, and they've rebranded some of their models with the Bino brand, that was already used in the '70s on Beltime LED watches, usually fitted with National Semiconductor modules. Bino-branded LED and LCD watches are quite rare today, I have an LED one with that brand in my collection. ;-)
