Unknow watch at old flea market

Post13 Apr 2014, 21:43

Hi guys!
I'm back from an old flea market....i bought this one for 5 euro...All stainless steel with mineral glass and solid state wrote on the case back. Unfortunatly no brand on it...and i must test it and remove the battery leackage near the battery holes.
Very curious the "cronograf" on the dial (so 70's with a great brown color under the sunlight)...why not chronograph?Could be an old brand from easter Europe?

Looks pretty cool. It was the right price anyway !
Maybe it's French. I know the Yema models were called Flygraf, Yachtingraf etc.

After a good clean operation the watch works :grin1:
i checked the module too search any info about brand or manufacter but nothing, anyway the module is well built. The features are: chrono by holding for 4 sec the upper left button, light (very bright) and day and date.
The time and date setting are similar to the early casiotron: pushing the setting button the hour and minutes advance automatically (one digit per time)

I also clean the case but i broke the glass so i need to replace it...That's all,a cheapo watch from mid 70's,maybe 1975 or 76,but built with high quality standards..ok not a seiko but a nice piece of history that i saved from a certain trash ;-) .

"Cronograf" is Romanian and it means, well, Chronograph. That doesn't necessarily mean the watch came from Romania, but maybe Romania was the target market for this watch. The Module somewhat resembles the one in my "Sundial" watch, which according to the previous owner was originally sold in Poland. At least the panel has the same layout and I can confirm the very bright backlight. I'll see if I find the time to take some pictures of it for comparison.
