Seiko a359a-5010

Post01 Sep 2014, 18:54

Hi Guys/Girls,

My first post here...

I started a restoration project on my seiko a359a watch.

The lcd panel (seiko partno.: 4510 540) is cracked and there is no liquid crystals fluid left in the panel as it seems to have evaporated.

I'm asking for expert advice: Is this a 'lost cause' or would it be possible to get a replacement lcd panel from somewhere for a reasonable price or only from a 'scrap parts watch' ?

kind regards,

Hi and welcome to the board from all us.

I cracked lcd is impossible to fix...but it's not that hard to find an donor on the bay. You will have to look for a beat-up seiko a359 so you could get it for a good price.
Hey you all...this board is FREE and without ADS, so at least post something every now and then to show your appreciation.

Thanks your reply and welcome.

Has seiko stopped delivering and servicing parts for these vintage watches?

Maybe there is some 'secret' stock somewhere in Japan. I was hoping for…

It's very easy found a seiko a359 on the bay...let's take a search ;-)
Some watches are made to last only as long as they are fashionable
Some watches, simply are not made to last
Seiko watches are designed to withstand the ravages of both time and fashion
Someday perhaps, all watches will be made this way

Take a look at these auctions:
http://www.ebay.it/itm/LOTE-SEIKO-CITIZ ... 1e1&_uhb=1

http://www.ebay.it/itm/Seiko-A359-5010- ... a35&_uhb=1

Seems to be ok (only rainbow effect but you can change the front film)....
