Seiko G757 LCD Screens Compatibility

Post06 Aug 2024, 20:40

Hey all! It's been awhile but checking back in with a question...or two regarding the Seiko G757.

I have a G757-5020 and recently picked up a G757-5030. It was a great deal and I fought it always best to have a backup for the 5020. What I didn't realize is that the LCD display is very different between the 2. I know that the module are the same (correct?) but the 5030 has a seemingly larger seconds counter and smaller hours. One of the main difference, and one that I cant seem to find much info on is that the 5030 displays the date, with the word "DATE" above it where the digital second usually are. So, the display reads the day and below the date. I know you set the date on the 5020 but it's never displayed like that. In other 5030 models I have seen, the date is not that, only seconds. Is this something can can be switched or was this only on certain watches?

Also, my 5020 has started to loose segments. Only one segment in the lower right minute readout. What models have a similar LCD readout to the 5020?
