Remove the band, it will be more apparent.
Why do you need to open? Hopefully not because you think the displays aren't synchronized....without the instructions you will never figure it out. Serious, I've had someone tell how they oepen it and pushed the hands around, only to have the same problem AGAIN when it fired up.

I have a few if you want another

Ha Ed...but this one is a special one...you cannot...i repeat...you cannot open this module. I've looked all over the net to found an answer. not found one.

This is where i am now after sweating to get in it.

i've tried to remove the glass..but it's still sits very tight.

it is just like the back is soldered to the case?? never seen something like this before?

it's corroded in the inside and i want to clean it.

I confess - I've never opened one of those. But there are a few others that were soldered shut. There are a few alloys that will soften as low as 60c. So, you could try to heat it carefully(I would suggest over, set no higher than 80-85 c. - let oven preheat, put watch in a pan (to avoid hot spot overheating and thermal shock) and laid face down on a rag for same reason. Don't worry, most cloth won't ignite at anywhere near those temperatures. 8-)

even if you got the glass off you still need to remove the stem and crown. my guess is the back is either soldered on or it is rusted on. i had 2 seiko chrono models that had that problem. they were screw backs and no amount of force to the spanner [and i have a big one] would remove them. i sold them for $10 each. just because it is s/s doesn't mean it won't rust. i would carefully examine under magnification the edge of the back and case seam. there may be a tiny wedge to get a blade in. :-) peter

beeeep..nice try..wrong answer.

Mr Tissot don't know who Kasper is...Blow the horn please..tatataaatttatata...a new marshall plan was created. I dug deep in my sellar and ..there it was..my old friend from World war II.
The terminator...eeeugh i mean The Factotum. And after a few warmups..it delivers. But don't try this at home!!

it's a pity..it was so difficult to get the heat nicely even distributed over the whole plate.

Image

the platic glass got a bit to hot. :-?

now let's clean here and see if we can revive her.

i must admit..this thing is nicely made..one crown for all the functions.

I turned the plate in the last picture..so it;s the opposit side normal when you put it back together.

so..as you all see..i still have no idea what sort of alloy it was. But now i know how to open these.
- still must found how they do the graphics..it must be a thin plastic layer.

For the pro's :
I can make that glass ..i've see it's sferical +6.00 dioptry with a cylinder of -6.00 dioptry at 180 degrees...so it's an astigmatic organic glass with a diameter of 35 mm.

i'm pretty sure i can make that one..but still i need to figure out the graphics.

Update : 09/01/12 restoring is done...the problem was the contact between the zebra strip and the lcd...needed more pressure...broke the lcd so..restoring is finished till i have another module.

Hey that's very sharp i hadn't noticed that.
Spares...ai ai ai...but it seems to be working fine
according to the seller.
Perhaps he is talking about the white dialed one not the black one.
