Tissot F1 lcd

Post19 Sep 2012, 20:10

Nice Tissot F1 with box. Working, but quite dirty inside. Under one of the batteries was a loose screw, cracked the module, thank god in a less important place...

I already got the speaker grill off, to fix the bent parts. I should take off the glass, for cleaning, but I'm afraid I'll break it.

That looks like the same module as the Omega 1620.
I think I saw this Tissot F1 float past on Ebay. I was gonna bid.........

It's amazing what people shove into battery wells in an attempt to get them going. I got a mint Omega 1603 once and it had a cogged brass wheel(from an analogue watch) in one of the battery wells !! Just recently I got an Omega 1620 LCD module with a few brass bits shoved into one of the wells too. Maybe they were magic brass pieces ;-)

Rgds.

I was able to remove the crystal. Insert some plastic thingy that occupies as much of the crystal as possible, clamp it in a rubber mouth vice and a careful tap with a jeweler's hammer removes the crystal :)

Let the cleaning begin :)

I usually cross my fingers while tapping, don't know if it helps though :-D

I glued a piece of plastic in the hole the loose screw left and glued some cracks in the module. It's ugly but it it's allright again :)
