Chepo Hong Kong

Post22 Nov 2012, 18:42

I found this pretty watch time ago in my favourite flea market....sold as non working i decide to buy it (only 5 euro) because in my opinion was very pretty even if was an evident chepo watch....
Well on the back case and in the circuit is present this " QUON COMPEQ LTD HONG KONG"
The watch is very simple: only hour, minute and by pressing the button the date and the seconds.....and also a powerfull light...
I clean all the contact and the watch run immediatly when i put in the battery....great....
Only the back is metal, the rest is chrome plated as the other hong kong watch of this period....
The brand is CENTIA....anyone knows this brand?Any information about this chepo hong kong watches made at the end of the 70's and early 80's?
This one probably came from early 80's (maybe 81-82)...
Not a Seiko or other big brands but very cool....

here some pics as the same....

Some watches are made to last only as long as they are fashionable
Some watches, simply are not made to last
Seiko watches are designed to withstand the ravages of both time and fashion
Someday perhaps, all watches will be made this way

A Cheapo Hong Kong from the 70's, 80's is not all that bad, as there was still some unique designs.
