Orient Dot Matrix: comment alarm

Post29 May 2013, 12:11

Happy to share with you another watch won on ebay last week...
Here an Orient DOT MATRIX comment alarm, with light, chrono, alarm and message to associate with your daily alarm (you can choose all number and all letter,so from 1 to Z)
The module is an Orient 75100 as you can see, very well built...
The case is very massive and heavy with a beautiful blue dial (i must post another pics...) and the strap isn't original
I'll never seen this watch before and i thinked that the dot matrix was only built by Seiko in 1980,so i don't know in which year this orient was released. For further information i'll try to send an email to Orient...
Here some pics....enjoy...

What a great watch simone :mega:
I think it was ahead of it's time, do you know when it was made ? , must be early 80's.

No,i don't...i send today a email to Orient watch in Japan in order to know anything about this watch. For sure it's early 80's but i just want to know if Orient was made this before or after the D031 by Seiko.
For it's time seems to be very tecnological....

Update...i found in my spares an ORIENT strap for this dot matrix...not the original for this model but fits very very well...
As you can see in the mach with the D031 the "number 2" in Orient seems to be a "Z"... :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P

Congratulations. I was tempted to place a bid but I've strained my budget already with some flea market finds and an old half-working Breitling Intruder Digi/Ana I found at a local store the other week.

i just want to know if Orient was made this before or after the D031 by Seiko.

I think the D031 was the first dot matrix.

By design (in my opinion) the Orient was released in 1980,before or after i don't know...the case is very chunky and heavy (similar to Casio qs)...maybe i wrong.
I'm still waiting for a reply by Orient

For sure this watch was very futuristic for it's time :mega:

Nothing to do...This the Orient's reply:

" Regarding the model, as you mention it is old model.
Therefore we don't have many records now unfortunately.
Also we don't have the instruction manual left.
Sorry for your inconvenience but we really appreciate if you understand the situation.

Best regards,

ORIENT WATCH CO.,LTD."
