chronosport udt base metal?

Post18 Sep 2014, 18:13

Does anyone know anything about the UDT chronosport watches? I have just seen a listing with the case being marked as base metal. Is this correct? I thought they were teflon coated stainless steel. Was that just later ones with the Miyota(Y652) module in and not the hateful ESA, that trips on acid if you so much as look at it in the wrong way.

This is the listing for those interested. It looks like a brass case I think.

There must've been 2 versions  .
Here's mine, with the hateful ESA movement, but mine is marked on the back "All Stainless Steel":

I got mine in pieces, and the Chronosport dial had a big chunk out of the side where somebody got over-excited when removing the module. To be fair, it is very difficult to remove the module because the buttons prevent it from lifting out.
I presume the same person scratched the bezel when prising it off !
I got a nice French Air Force Breitling dial to replace the damaged original.
It's missing the crown though. On the hunt............ ;-)
Rgds.
