Seiko C359 lcd panel question wrt replace polarizing filters

Hey guys,

Im about to work on a Seiko C359 calculator. I have a question about the lcd panel.

The panels of the Seiko C359 in particular tend to fade out. Is this primarily due to worn polarizing filters? Or is there also a panel issue?

Is there anyone who restored a totally faded out C359 panel with replaced polarizing filters successfully?

I tried to place a new polarizing filter on a faded out C359 lcd panel ,but that didn't work the digit's were still faded.
I think it has something to do with the power distribution from the circuit board to the panel. (a faulty component, but i don't know exactly which one)

That's possible. But I remember having the same troubles two years ago and replacing the lcd panel with a good one (without fading) to the same circuit board didn't give the same effect..
Is it something with the liquid crystals maybe?

I never heard of that, but it could be a problem with this specific lcd panel.
