Anyone seen this Avia before?

Post02 Sep 2015, 13:48

Hi,

Has anyone come across this Avia before? I can't find any reference to it on the web. Any ideas of a fair price to pay?

Thanks in advance,

Mark

Almost looks like a pocket watch or pendant. In any case, this post would attract more useful attention if it was in the "Vintage DSM and LCD Watches" section, since it is NOT an LED watch.

Hello,

No never seen but why not ;-)

This Avia is fitted with an ESA 934.831 module, was also used by many manufacturers like Longines or Jaz...

Its an ESA 934831 movement that was also used by Certina and Microma (amongst others). Prices tend to be all over the place as only several pieces come up per year but they arent necessarily considered "hot" or super rare pieces. Ive seen them sold at prices ranging from about $60-150 depending on condition but list prices go above 200 sometimes eg eBay item 111746260654

Thanks wzy-hman, I picked this up from the seller at lunch time and gave him $50. It's a good size with classic 70's looks.

Thanks again for your help.

That's not a bad deal Mark, please post a photo after you've paired it with a bracelet or band so we can all admire! It's quite a unique looking LCD display

Hi guys, I'm pretty pleased with this purchase. While there are few scratches on the case, the overall watch is pretty clean. I really like the font of the digits, the offset minutes from the hour, and the little flashing "SWISS". Even the light work perfectly.

So far I've tried it on black rally style perforated leather (looks ok) and textured rubber (looks better).

Some photo's:

I had some MBO watches with that module too.
