Heuer Lap 77

I came across this Lap 77 Heuer, not working (left one in pic) .Behind the battery covers are supposed to be spongy type tensioners, both of these were missing. I fitted the covers off my working Heuer and it came to life. Its in working order , can be set, keeps time, counts etc BUT the displays are faded out. You can just make out the Ford logo on the top display. The watch on the right required new displays as the originals had bled. The drawback is when new displays are grafted on , it loses the imbedded Ford logo. Anyway, its off to Neil at Rawsar to (hopefully) get fixed

Find new polarized thin film, maybe only films should be replaced to avoid fade digits(in 80% cases the upper one replacement is enough). I've bought glossy (not matt) films for cellar phones.
The proof of the pudding is in the eating...
