Nice boxed Optel Segtronic (1974ish)

Post21 Dec 2023, 18:18

Here's a nice new arrival to my vintage collection. I have a fondness for the lovely big Optel watches in whatever form they are, both DSM and the later FE display.
this one came in its original box with the crown setting warning, athough I seem to have been given an instruction book for a NOVUS LED watch.

Anyway, to keep the goldtone in as nice condition as possible (and because I couldn't be bothered attempting to remove links from it, I swapped the bracelet for a period appropriate leather rally-style strap. Hope you like it.

Glad you liked it. You never forget you have one of these monsters round your wrist even on a slim leather band!
And although I prefer the stainless steel version, the display looked so crisp, I couldn't let it slip by.
Merry Christmas!

Congratulations finding such a fine example. Yes those chunky 1970's cases do have a presence.
