Hello, Anyone out there into LCD's that might know how much a near mint working Bulova/Caravelle-Melody Alarm/World Timer Alarm watch would be worth? I have one that is in super excellent condition that I bought at the flea market from the 'junk' box...

Is it an exact replica of Seiko A239?
Image

or is it a faux 2 layer lcd?

Does it show you the map?

I can certainly see the red alarm signs on the first screen. Sorry for the questions but it really does make a difference on the price.

Yes it looks very much like that and it does have a map with the divisions on it for each time zone and the display is set up pretty much the same way.

here is a photo of the 'map' on the watch...the glare in the middle of the crystal is not a scratch, just a reflection from the flash...

That has to be a seiko module in there although I think Armitron also did a version so it my be an exact copy. Id be interested to see the module back if possible. Anyway price is £70 plus, sorry I cant be more precise. The 2 layer LCD is really cool and very sought after. It wont be as sought after as a Seiko but as its NOS you'll get a good price. Is it OK to use your images to add to digitalwatchlibrary.com. It'd be great to show the comparisons.

It won't get as much as a Seiko signed one. Caravelle signed watches generally do poorly.

Do a private bidding auction and use a shill bidder to bump the bids. Ebay totally encourages it...Although they don't state it publicly.

Thanks for posting the module, for me its really interesting, I can really see the difference between your and the Seiko module. The Seiko is an pain to work with as the rear module case seems to have always been mended or falling to bits, fortunately the Seiko A258 works just as well, anyway rambling a bit. Good luck with your sale.
