Mega 1000 shortage?

While i am considering the mega 1000, i noticed that stock on the UK site has been unavailable for a while.The date for new arrivals have been continually put back.
Has this any to do with part supply problems? From japan perhaps?
Anyone know if the spec has changed for new 2011 models?
