So, you're thinkng about that Sigma MGS... but it's pricey.
Hmmm.

Maybe it isn't so expensive after all...

The Romain Jerome 'Pilot's watch' 'Sacecraft' is apparently approx $33,000...
It is titanium, mind.

Errrr, not so easy to see the time at a glance.

I'm not sure it would be 'wearable' on my relatively small wrists either...

Nice! The shape of the case is very interesting, although I find the hour and minutes position a bit awkward. I think that a layout similar to the one of the Amida Digitrend would've been more effective.

Never worth that amount of money..even in titanium. Funny design and normally i like it but no..it doesn't do it for me.

I like to see watches made rectangular in the lenght of the arm not the other way around.

I still haven't found a design from RJ that I like, this one included.

Meh,

This is an example of why modern horology is uninteresting. It seems that modern watches are split between ridiculously expensive ultra limited run status symbols and the super cheap ultra mass market disposable watches. This is a pure status thing, not watchmaking.

One other thing - for that kind of money, you'd think they'd include a real bracelet. From the description: "The Spacecraft watch is fitted with a black polyamide mesh strap."

Polyamide? Are you kidding me? Polyamide == Nylon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polyamide). This is a $30K watch with a plastic strap. My first reaction was: Jeesh, that carbon fiber or whatever band looks just like nylon. Nope - it actually IS nylon. What a joke. I got a nice plastic watch in a honeycomb box once. It was a limited edition too. :-)

By the looks of it, when observing the photo.
It also seems to be a fingerprint magnet.

I think it is an interesting design but not very practical for telling time. Of course you have the usual mechanical accuracy.

An oversized ugly watch, which you need to look at twice to read the time, no thanks, not even at a tenth of the price.

Somehow, the plastic strap doesn't surprise me. How about a half-million-dollar Patek-Phillippe with a leather strap? For that kind of money, I would expect a solid platinum case AND bracelet, but even then, it would only represent about 1% of the purchase price. To me, this just looks like somebody trying to make a quick buck...

How heavy would the PT bracelet and case be?

Maybe 4-5ozT, but, if a guy feels weighed-down with just a four or five-ounce watch on his wrist, he probably shouldn't be wearing one at all... This was a complaint leveled against the early Pulsars, especially the P1, 2, and 3 models. My first Pulsar, a stainless P3 with a solid-link bracelet, weighed 107.5 grams (about 3.45ozT) and it was always perfectly comfortable. A P1 with a 20-link bracelet weighs about 135 grams (4.3ozT), an 18K Calculator, 155 grams (4.98ozT), and again, I certainly wouldn't object to the weight. A lot of this is pure marketing...when light, thin watches are "in style", that's what everybody wants, and when big, massive watches are fashionable, everybody wears big, massive watches. I just wear what I like, but, that's just me...
