I like! Hamilton’s website is a little confusing though, main shots of the watch show it with a dot display, others show a line display

They did it right. I'm glad they didn't do a cheap re-issue like Bulova did with the Computron. The P2 deserves a proper remembrance. Pretty neat display technology - kind of an update on the hybrid LCD/LED displays used in the weird Seiko LeVent watches from the 90s.

I wonder if the buttons have the soft magnetic reed switch feel of a real P2?

Nice. One thing that does slightly put me off, after looking over promo pics, I noticed the dots on the display look like they are formed by shining a solid line through a perforated sheet.

Hopefully you can see on in a physical store before buying it there or ordering online.

Ive both steel and gold versions of the Bulova and think they are excellent quality inc the display and a much more affordable price,i think the hamilton is great and hope prices soften , £900 i way to much, although the steel version is prob the best and cheapest one thankfully.
However the HGWC driver remains the only digital that can truly declare the original led dot display,the Hamilton is not quite the same ,if that matters.
Interestingly this is a lcd/oled display and back lit lcds have always been hammered on this forum

After more time spent drooling over pics and info, I don't think the display is as crude as I first thought, not just shining red light through a perforated sheet. It seems more like, and I'm only guessing at this time, a perminant dull lcd will be visible at all times. Then when the button is pressed, it lights up a separate set of led lights that light up bright.

Hello everyone, its been a while since I was here :)

I'm also thinking of placing an order for the Stainless Steel Model but waiting for a reply from Hamilton. I asked a simple question about two weeks ago with no reply, wanted to know about battery life and if its replaceable by any jeweller or if it needs to go back to Hamilton for battery replacement.

The Hamilton site has great photos and the watch looks fantastic. The limited specks are great so far. Wish they included a proper PDF of the instruction manual so we can see if it also includes a Date function etc.

Can't wait for user reviews :)

Damm i cant let the chance pass not to secure the LTD gold version.Ive wished for this for years.......
So i have, both stainless “astronaut” and gold “ VIP” on order.
If anyone is thinking about the LTD, ive been advised by a retailer that even the allocated stock to them is not guaranteed , (in most cases one per retailer ) due to the demand......its a once only chance if your lucky.

I wasnt sure about this re release as its two years early for the P-2. I wished they would of replicated the 1970 prototype in gold and SS.



I couldn't resist placing an order on the limited edition gold version. I'm a sucker for numbers. I asked for #1 and #1970, but as expected both gone. Then i asked for # 0007 also gone. So I was lucky to get my birth year serial number reserved # 1968. £900 is too much , but I have to have it. Oh and having HAMILTON stamped on the case is cool too.
