That's pretty neat. I remember wanting one of these as a kid. It seemed so futuristic and covert.

I'm very jealous. I bought an LCD watch pen back in the 80s, but an LED one these days is even cooler!

I picked up a 'Kent' LED watch pen which looks identical to Kasper's 'Sterling', it did not come with any instructions, I have found the set button and managed to set it but where do the batteries fit and how do you remove the ink cartridge?

Can replacement ink cartridges still be purchased? If not are there any modern alternatives that can be adapted to fit?

Kasper,

Super nice LED pen! I do remember seeing these type of pens, but in Dept stores I think. Not sure how well they did on the market though. Also, I wonder how much they were produced. Does anyone know how vastly these watch pens were manufactured. I would be shocked if they were produced on a large scale because of the awkward method of telling time through a writing utensil, but who knows.

i have no idea how to remove it..have no instuctions as well.
maybe we just have to push the rod like the calcupen?
and go with the ink cardridge to a pen store.

i don't understand...you cannot set it if the batts are not in the pen.

I was asking in advance, anticipating the next battery change.

I finally got one of these on Ebay!

The watch part works well, and I figured out how to set it - the set button is the dimple in the bottom of the watch part when you unscrew the pen into 2 pieces.

I'm also trying to figure out how to remove the cartridge and replace.

No liquids. You can't get the module out as it snaps into place in the window.

To clean, the best would be a fiber glass pen and a can of air followed by some alcohol on a Qtip.

Any liquid may seep into the LED display and dry there leaving a film or help corrode the bonds.

So when you clean blow the air from the click at the end towards the battery area.

They are great.

Thanks Geoff. It's the ink cartridge I'm trying to change. The LED is fine.
