Wow. Just noticed this post. If you like all types of 'digitals' this is a great site. The Witnauer futurama is a heck of a watch.

Also, for what it's worth, if any of you were ever interested in buying the 'Amida' side view mechanical watch you might want to look at this http://crazywatches.w.interia.pl/photo/jumphour/amida_digitrend.html Considering the price it sells for on auctions and webshops, i've gone right off it. It still looks great but the quality :? Oh dear, thats one to scrub from my list :(

I know what you guys mean. I was really getting interested in purchasing the Derby and the Amida, but after reading the info from you guys and some of these great sites, they are definately off my list.

The Derby is the coolest looking digital with the odometer style rotors, but when you find out it's so delicate, and many parts are made of plastic gears, it's kinda sad to see it selling for $700 or more. And when you find out the Amida is a single jewel movement and see the insides, well it takes a lot away from it when you see it's price over $300 lol.

Oh well, guess I'm glad I learned something from you guys, and I'll just save the money for other watches.

Abacus - just been checking into those amazing looking Wittnauer Futurama watches, and came across one on ebay uk. But at ?1,400 with no papers, i'll have to carry on looking only !

incredible looking watch for 1967 though :)
