Festina with Ronda cal 1377 (almost there :) )

Post20 Mar 2014, 21:18

A while ago in a watch lot. The case is ehhh "for people with a special taste".

Very large case, glass crystal.

And the "hidden gem" A Ronda cal 1377 early and rare quartz as our friend azimuth_pl already described at his awesome website :)

I even managed to find a donor to repair the day/date mechanism. Unfortunately the circuit is dead. The grubby circuit from the donor manages to operate for 30 seconds after inserting a battery. Pity

Working again with a new circuit :) It sometimes starts to "backlash" so some more cleaning might be needed. I replaced the circuit and the stepper motor, because the original suddenly went open circuit. So no more "Festina" branding :( But I think I'm 99% there :)

The movement with the new circuit and donor stepper motor.

Still a nice dial ;)

That case on the wrist really doesn't look huge. Some new models available are really huge but that looks comfortable. Interesting watch for sure!!! :Hi:
