How To Attach a Spring for the Alarm Function on This LCD?

Post06 Mar 2009, 09:35

Once the spring is inserted is there a technique to secure it? I know the end that has a little extension on it goes in first. This is an alarm (spring) function. Thanks for any help as this little guy likes to jump all over and hide every time I handle it. Thanks!

Unfortunately no. Actually you COULD use silver epoxy or soldering to fit it in place, as i think it really just transmits the electric current to the piezo speaker. But originally this is placed with a bit of artistic talent. Maybe the GLIMPSE of a drop of super glue attached with a needle to the spring would help, but keep in mind that super glue does not conduct electricity, so dont isolate the spring with glue XD

Much appreciated for the info! I'll give it a try and let you know how I made out. It may be awhile however. That spring is so small I can be looking at it and not see it. Deek
