Looking for FRONTIER module 29mm

Post25 Dec 2009, 19:35

Hi,

I'm looking for a 'Frontier' module or something very similar that will do the job. The watch doesn't have a name but the module is Frontier.
Its for an old 1970's LED watch. Unfortunately it doesn't work. The module is round and 29mm wide and takes 2 batteries.
Any help very much appreciated.

Thanks.

Recently the spring in the module has come loose, the other spring is still stuck to the back case. Will the spring coming loose in the module make any difference?
I've posted a pic of the front of the watch.

This one could be replaced with a SASM-50 movement (http://www.strikesandspares.de/ledsamde.htm). Moreover I think retroleds has some original ones for sale, too.

If the springs are making a good contact between the batteries and the back case it should be ok. Obviously you will have to remove he spring to install the batteries. The battery pads look very dirty, you could try giving them a clean to ensure that you have a good contact - a fibre glass pen is good for this - about £3 on eBay to buy. The main culprit for killing modules is leaked acid from old batteries, if there is signs of corrosion (green\white deposits) the module may have been corroded beyond repair.
