Pulsar w861A battery change - short?

Post20 Jun 2011, 23:24

I'm sure you will be able to tell from the post, but I'm just getting into the digital watches. So, I apologize for any noobyness I spit out.

I have a Pulsar W861A that the battery died. I bought a new one and changed the battery and there is a warning to "after installing a battery, short circuit the switch spring and the AC terminal with tweezers". With the battery installed, none of the buttons do anything so I'm assuming I need to listen to the warning.

However, I'm not sure what to short out. I see the AC terminal - its a small hole on the right side of the back of the assembly when placed face down. What is the switch spring though? Is there some magic I need to do to get that working?

The only thing I see in the manual is to hold all 4 buttons for 2-3 seocnds if you run into issues, but that won't work. They suggest to go to a professional for help. Really? That sounds unhelpful and unnecessary!

Thanks in advance, I appreciate it!
