Did the Seiko C-515 - 5009 have a polarizer?

For electronic related stuff like module repair, silver epoxy fixes etc.

Did the Seiko C-515 - 5009 have a polarizer?

Post30 Oct 2024, 04:25

Hey folks, I have been messing with my fathers Seiko c515 calculator watch which has sat dormant since the late 90s, and have an interesting issue. This watch has been a pain from day one due to missing a battery terminal (temporarily replaced with tin foil) after a botched Kmart battery replacement years ago, which is why the watch has been sitting.

So, what I’m wondering on this watch is if it had a polarizer on the display. When looking straight at this watch, all segments are “lit” up, so the display reads just a bunch of 8s. When I view the watch from the left, I can actually see the time and nothing else. I did pull some polarizing film from an old Palm Pilot, which was too dark to see.

Besides that, this watch does have various other issues which will be dealt with later on hopefully. Thanks folks!
