Quartz Crystal Tester

Post27 Oct 2007, 10:40

Hi All.
I've been contemplating using a cheap watch module as a ready to go QC tester, by simply replacing the existing QC with a pair of electrical probes. Last week I bought a cheap Chinese digital for $1 at the markets, and attached the probes as below:

Now it's easy to quickly check a QC before installing into a suspect watch, I've also checked and thrown all the QCs I've got lying around in my drawer. Not sure whether this is common practice, but I thought I'd share this idea.......I'm sure someone will find it handy.

Rgds,
Andrew.

Neat, this is my version, including F-out to check to accuracy of the donor X-tal with my frequency-counter.
